Creative is not a church, it is a
ministry to the Body of Christ, working together
with other bodies of believers to reach our
communities with the gospel.
This will often be on behalf of other bodies of believers or ‘churches’. Our aim is to reach the lost, but not necessarily to fill our own sanctuary. We are a servant body of ‘called out ones’, centred upon discipleship in prayer, anointed arts and evangelism.
Our fulfillment of Jesus’ commission to preach the gospel, heal the sick and cast out demons will be clearly realised as we serve the wider body of the church in our area and abroad, adding converts to the church, without necessarily adding to our own number. Those who choose to join under the vision of Citilife Creative in its diverse ministrations will however by discipled with strength and love.
In the true sense of the word, yes, we are a ‘church’. ‘Ekklesia’, the Greek word translated “church” in the New Testament, essentially means ’called out ones’. When the New Testament was written, in the secular understanding of the day, the word often referred to an assembly of people coming together to bring authority and government in their sphere of influenece. Our sphere of influence is the world of arts, media and entertainment. We are called to bring the authority of the gospel in these areas, harnessing their power to penetrate society with the message and demonstration of the gospel.
Pastorally, the members of the team will receive ministry and spiritual covering from five-fold ministries and other servants within the House. CitiLife Creative will be the place where artists of all disciplines, often misunderstood or under utilised, can come and be mentored, and shepherded in the anointing. Although we are a ministry team with every member active, CitiLife is also a family, a creative apostolic community of called-out and sent ones.
Those with pastoral gifting will also be developed and released to run house churches or local gatherings and conceive creative outreach events to reach their areas. These groups will comprise members of the House and those whom they are seeking to reach. The House as a whole will also seek to serve these local pastoral branches in whatever way they can.
